Public Works

The Edwardsville Public Works Department is committed to providing quality and safe roadways to our citizens.  The Public Works Department oversees roadway maintenance, road construction, ROW maintenance, tree removal, storm sewer maintenance, city parks, street signs, traffic signals, and snow removal.  Edwardsville Public Works Department maintains approximately 64 lane miles throughout the city.

2015 - UPCOMING PROJECTS

  • PHASE 1 Edwardsville Trail - The Edwardsville Trail is complete. The half-mile trail stretches from the city park to the boat ramp park.  It includes a bridge crossing Bett's Creek and a trail that meanders along the creek and through the woods.  
  • KANSAS AVENUE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION - Kansas Avenue currently has several issues with width, drainage, and limited visibility.  This project will increase road width, improve drainage, and improve site distances on the roadway.  The project will primarily be funded by grant money awarded by the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).  August 2015 - The project is underway and utilities are currently being relocated.
