Wichita State University has been working with City staff and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board to help develop a long-range Master Plan for the Parks & Recreation division. The effort analyzes current facts and figures related to ongoing programming, the opportunities offered in the immediate region, and also gauges community needs and wants through various outreach means.

An online survey was distributed this summer, the results of which were shared with the Parks & Rec Advisory Board during their August meeting. All of this input will be considered as the plan comes together prior to adoption in the early parts of the fourth quarter of 2019. In order to gain even more community insight, the survey has been reopened and will remain a live link until early September. Click on the link at the end of this article to access to 2-3 minute survey.

In order to share the information gathered so far and to collect additional community feedback, WSU staff is planning on having a presence at the Edwardsville Elementary BINGO night as well as the Edwardsville AutumnFest event. BINGO night is set for Thursday, September 26 at Edwardsville Elementary and AutumnFest takes place Friday and Saturday, September 20-21 in and around the Edwardsville Community Center.
