The Hard Rock Hotel project within the Village South at Edwardsville development has been issued the necessary permits to begin site work and construction of the 10-story attraction. The Village South project, located in the southeast corner of I-70 and 110th St. just south of the Legends shopping district, is a multi-use commercial development project that has been through a series of concepts over its multi-year review period. The Edwardsville City Council, along with City Hall staff, have been working with the development team to bring an top-of-the-line feature to the Edwardsville community, with the intention being that it provides the spark for additional development in the City's north end.

Site work has already begun in the area and the development team are hopeful for a summer 2021 grand opening. The hotel will also include a large convention/conference space and a rooftop bar and restaurant. Other pad sites within the development are being advertised as the hotel project progresses.
