The Edwardsville City Council will hold a special meeting tonight, May 18, beginning at 6:00 in the Edwardsville City Council Chambers. Per our City Code, three Councilmembers must submit a request to hold a special meeting before the Mayor can call a meeting outside of the normal schedule. Councilmembers Carolyn Caiharr, Chuck Adams, and Garrett Mellott submitted written requests to conduct the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss and consider coronavirus response plans. There is the possibility that an executive session is called as well. There will be no public comment period for this meeting.
This meeting will be open to the public, though there are limitations. Everyone who wishes to attend will have a temperature check prior to entry into the City Council Chambers. Any person with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit will not be granted access. There will be a 10-person capacity (outside of staff and elected officials) allowed inside.
For the first time, this meeting will be streamed live on the City’s Facebook page utilizing Facebook Live. This broadcast will begin shortly before 6:00 pm. Follow the link provided below to be directed to the City’s official Facebook page.
