At the group’s May 26 meeting, the Edwardsville City Council adopted Resolution 2020-05 restating its commitment to the health and welfare of Edwardsville residents and local business. The resolution (linked below) details the City Council’s dissatisfaction with the ReStart WyCo committee, formed by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas. Specifically, the City Council was greatly concerned with the lack of representation on this committee as well as its lack of input into the public health guidelines meant to apply to the entire County.
The resolution affirms that the governing body will remain vigilant in its demand for increased inclusion in other similar county-wide discussions as well as states that the City will continue to monitor the impacts of local health orders on residents and businesses to seek ways to alleviate economic hardships.
