The City of Edwardsville has finalized RFP (request for proposal) documents to consider a contracted solution for solid waste services in the City. The current service provider, Waste Management, has been with the City for the last five years and offers weekly curbside trash and recycling pick up. Additionally, Edwardsville residents are able to bring yard waste/brush/tree limbs for disposal at the Johnson County Landfill (located just south of the Kansas River at 17955 Holliday Dr, Shawnee, KS 662170) at no charge with proof of residency.
This request for proposals is for solid waste services that would begin January 2021. The City is soliciting responses that would allow for a menu of options to choose from depending on the cost and efficiency of the service. This may include alterations to recycling frequencies, commercial solid waste service, yard waste service, an bulky item pick-up.
