The City-Wide Clean Up event typically takes place in May to coincide with Wyandotte County’s household hazardous waste event. Due to the public health restrictions stemming from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this event was not able to be scheduled during its normal time. Attempts to reschedule using the familiar format were not finalized due again to COVID-19.
As such, the City and its contracted partner Waste Management will be holding a bulky-item pick up day on Saturday, November 14. Residents are encouraged to leave 2-3 large or bulky household items on their curb for Waste Management crews to pick up throughout the Saturday. Pickups will begin at 7:00 a.m. and continue until all of the left out items are recovered. Make sure to get your items at the curb Friday evening so not to miss your neighborhood’s pick up. Construction items such as drywall, paint, etc. or hazardous materials such as freon, oil, etc. will not be accepted.
Final details on this event, including a final listing of acceptable items will be updated on the City’s Facebook event page (linked below) as well as in the October utility billing mailer.
