[ARCHIVED] Community Center Open for Rentals in April

Comm Center

Effective April 3, City staff will begin accepting reservations for Community Center rentals. A temporary moratorium was placed on rental of the facility in early 2021 due to a rise in COVID-19 cases. Positive public health data has allowed for resuming rentals of the site. During the moratorium, City staff performed a remodel of the kitchenette area, installing new sinks and cabinets as well as a roll-away counter area. The space was also used for municipal court dockets as well as being the site for community aid programs, like the Harvesters mobile food pantry.

Certain limitations are still in place at the Center:

  • Total capacity for rentals will be capped at 100 people
  • Per Local Health Order 11/20/20 (available to read HERE) masks are required for while inside the premises
  • Rentals which include alcohol will not be permitted at this time. Rentals with alcohol require police presence for security purposes. It is the City's position at this time to continue to limit EPD personnel's exposure to large gatherings whenever possible

Rentals of the Edwardsville Park Shelter continue to be open with certain restrictions as well, chiefly the recommendation for 6-foot social distancing. To rent either facility, simply call City Hall at 913-356-6000, extension 1.
