[ARCHIVED] City-Wide Clean Up Set for May 15

city-wide clean up

The City-Wide Clean Up event takes place at Edwardsville City Hall, Saturday, May 15 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Open-top dumpsters will be stationed inside the parking lot for residents to dispose of large and/or bulky items that are not normally accepted during regular trash pick up. There is no cost to attend or registration necessary for this event, but it is restricted to Edwardsville residents only. Addresses will be checked as vehicles enter the lot.

Landfill restrictions do not allow collection of certain materials. This includes the following items that cannot be accepted:

  • Paint cans
  • Yard waste/tree debris
  • Car batteries
  • Oil or oil cans
  • Any flammable/corrosive/explosive materials
  • Tires
  • Concrete or stone
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Dirt
  • Propane tanks with any liquids inside
  • Old-style tube TVs (the type with bubble screens)

There will also be options to dispose of scrap metal and e-waste materials on site as well. Additionally, Adelante Thrift will have a truck on-site to take acceptable clothes and furniture for resale in their Wyandotte County location.

A final list of unacceptable materials will be sent via e-mail on Wednesday, May 12. You can sign-up for City e-news by clicking HERE.
