After delays due to utility relocation work, construction on the Riverview Crossroads project is set to begin Monday, May 10. Due to the scope of this project, which includes road improvements in the City's north end and installation of a roundabout at the City's northernmost entry point, road closures are expected to be in place for most of the year.
Sections of 110th St. and Riverview Ave. will be closed to thru traffic beginning Monday, May 10. Residents in these areas will still have access to their homes, but other traffic will be diverted. Riverview, from 118th St. on the west to 102nd St. on the east will be closed to thru traffic. 110th St. from the north City limits to Shawnee Rd. will be closed to thru traffic. Recommended detours to access I-35 from Edwardsville are to enter via I-435 from Kansas Avenue then proceed north to I-35.
Closures are expected to be in place for most of the year, though City staff is hoping to expedite reopening as soon as it is appropriate.
