[ARCHIVED] Goats on the Go Assist with Cemetery Maintenance

goats on the go

Local company Goats on the Go will have their "staff" at the Stony Point Cemetery this week between Wednesday, June 16, and Friday, June 18, performing vegetation control on the one-acre site.

Goats on the Go provides billie goats for pasture and field control. The company's owner approached the City earlier this year to discuss potential partnership opportunities. Restoration of the Stony Point cemetery, an abandoned cemetery in central Edwardsville just north of the Williamson Farms subdivision, is a priority for the Cemetery, Parks, and Public Spaces Board so this work presented a good opportunity to continue that effort and test out the process.

If you are in the area, please DO NOT approach the goats or attempt to handle any of the fencing equipment (which include solar panels for power). These are not petting zoo goats. Company representatives expect the work to be wrapped up prior to the end of the week.
