[ARCHIVED] Community Health Council to Have Local Representative

Alec Overman works with the Community Health Council (CHC) of Wyandotte County. The CHC is a non-profit organization that works in coordination with the health department to improve the overall health of the County. Alec is part of a project to place Community Health Workers in our community to serve as a resource to the residents of Bonner Springs and Edwardsville over the next six to twelve months.

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Alec will be at the Bonner Springs City Hall, 200 East Third Street, to help with resident needs. You can find him in the Recreation Department on Floor 1 of Bonner Springs City Hall. You may also see him walking around your neighborhood or at community events. A standing location within Edwardsville is currently being reviewed.

The CHC can help with or find resources, agencies, programs, and grants to assist with:

  • Housing
  • Rent
  • Utilities
  • EBT Stamps and SNAP
  • Health Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines
  • Many other resources and programs
