The Edwardsville Police Department has previously shared with the City Council a review of 2022 activity for the Community Service Officer (CSO). This position is primarily tasked with investigating and resolving code enforcement issues around the City. This could include tall grass violations, noise complaints, or stray animals. The EPD is also providing the City Council with a report on 2022 departmental activity. This report shows an increase in the calls for service over figures from 2020 through 2021, but a decrease in serious crimes per 1,000 population.
