What is the process for applying for a fence permit?: A fence permit may be obtained from City Hall by submitting the Fence Permit Application Form (PDF) and all necessary documentation for review and approval prior to installation or replacement of a fence. Information required on the application includes height, materials, location of the fence, as well as other information to ensure the fence meets applicable regulations.

Fence Permit

1. When is a fence permit required in the City of Edwardsville?: A fence permit is required to erect a new fence, move or replace an existing fence, or repair 50% or more of an existing fence. Except fences or walls used for agricultural purposes do not need a fence permit. Agricultural purposes shall include land that is zoned AG/R and used for the raising of crops, horticulture, animal and poultry husbandry and kennels.
