Meeting called to order by Chairman Martinique.

The minutes from 12/19/07 will be considered at the February 2008 meeting.
Public Hearing
Conduct a public hearing regarding a change of zoning from Commercial Extensive (C2) to Industrial Non-Hazard (I-) within the K-32 Overlay District for a tract of land at 9701 Kaw Drive.
The public meeting was called to order by Chairman Martinique.

New Business

Motion made by Commissioner Smith to approve change of zoning application as submitted; seconded by Commissioner Curry.
Motion carried 5-0.
Consider a Re-plat of Plaza West, located in the 10900 block of Kaw Drive, to amend the plat from 4 lots to 6 lots.
Motion made by Commissioner Smith to table the preliminary re-plat application as submitted; seconded by Commissioner Pappert.
Motion carried 5-0.

Items from the Staff
Interim City Administrator, Michael Webb reported that the Sands application was filed today and a Public Hearing on another gaming facility will be held at the February 2008 meeting.
The bid for the detention facility for the East Side Improvements was received. Approval was received from the State of Kansas for the preliminary alignment of the frontage road. The property acquisition for the Sewer Project will begin soon.
Dan Van Petten and Webb attended a meeting with the Mid American Regional Council regarding region-wide planning efforts and how the city can participate in this planning process.
Place the Land Use, Comprehensive Plan and Traffic Concept Plan on the agenda. Suggest that Brent Miles from the Wyandotte Development speak on behalf of the comprehensive plan process.
Items from the Planning Commission
Schedule a work session to review the Land Use, Comprehensive Plan and Traffic Concept Plan for the March agenda.

Motion made by Commissioner Pappert to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Curry.
Motion carried 5-0.
