A letter from Golden Gaming
Dear Greater Kansas City Resident:
I am pleased to invite you to become more familiar with the details of Golden Heartland's pending proposal to locate and build a world-class hotel/casino in Edwardsville. We have recently updated our Golden Gaming, Inc. Web site to include specifics and a virtual tour of the project (www.GoldenGamingInc.com/www/kansas/), and encourage you to look us up.
Over the past year, we have become acquainted with the unique characteristics and beauty of Kansas and your community. Based on what we learned, we submitted our proposal in October 2007 and obtained an endorsement for our plans from the City of Edwardsville in December 2007. We continue to believe our proposal offers an unmatched site and the best development plan for Wyandotte County with an initial investment of approximately $662 million in Phase I, including an 18-hole championship Tom Watson Signature designed golf course, and an additional investment of $252 million in Phase II.
If our project is selected by the Lottery Facility Management Review Board, we want to be a valued and respected corporate citizen, and an asset to the community. The project will be our flagship. It will maximize revenue, encourage tourism and best serve the interests of the state of Kansas, Wyandotte County, Edwardsville and Bonner Springs.
Our project is likely to generate more than 11,500 jobs during the construction phase, and 8,800 jobs once operational. We look forward to working with many Wyandotte county residents as our project develops.
On behalf of all of us at Golden Heartland, I would like to thank the officials and members of the communities of Edwardsville, Bonner Springs and Wyandotte County who have worked with us so positively and professionally to date, and to commend them for entering into the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement regarding casino development in the Northeast Zone. We have the ability and experience to timely and successfully build, staff, market, open and operate the project, and hope to be given the opportunity to do so.
